Lady Brown

“Lady Brown” is one of my favorites. The first impression of this piece as it was created was that the gender of the person was actually considered a man before adding additional feminine features. The finished color was chosen on purpose.  The dark shades of brown represent the culturally bound person to their original environment. The color brown symbolizes one with the earth and ground from which they came.  The brown skin tone, hair, eyes, lips, and lines on her face expresses the wisdom, determination, and will to survive and becoming one within yourself.
