Almost Family

"Almost Family" represents the missing centerpiece of the family which is the father.  In this piece you see the mother is more pronounced in the picture as being larger and the most forward figure on canvas.  This was done purposefully to show the mother as the authority but caring figure.  Her shoulders are broad in order to carry the weight of nurturing both her son and daughter.
