Michael Miller
Michael Miller is a self taught artist who creates multiple works of art using various mediums. Michael considers himself an artist with a mind for visual creativity and freedom of expression. He has been creating works of art for over 30 years, but has recently taken interest in showcasing some of his work through Laston Height, a studio he named in remembrance of the neighborhood he grew up in.
Most of Michael's work is hand sketched and created where he conceptualize his work in real time. Over the years, Michael has increasingly developed an appreciation for abstract art using various materials such as acrylic, oil, pencil, ink, and wood. He also has a love for photography and journaling. Michael truly believes art comes in many forms and appreciation for his art is different for many people.
He feels his work is personal and its freedom is drawn from time and space. A majority of Micheal's work is centered around people, places, and objects he visualizes while experiencing different events in his life. Some of his work infuses patterns within objects while other works are drawn from impulses as the lens, pen, or brush hits the canvas.
A graduate of Texas Southern University and the University of Central Florida, Michael works in public service were he enjoys building relationships with various entities in both public and private sectors. He currently lives and works out of his studio in Washington, DC metropolitan area.
